Meet the Trainer

Heather Hawkins is a certified trainer with CCPDT, a CGC Evaluator, member of APDT and has several dogs of her own.  She has been specializing in house manners, obedience and behavior for over 20 years. Heather began her career in training by teaching group classes and handling private lessons. She quickly became head trainer and was an area trainer for several years teaching and managing new trainers. She has fostered several dogs over the years and loves to work with and rehabilitate shy and reactive dogs. Heather has a positive approach  that she has developed through years of research, study and personal experience.  Heather has a gift of connecting with animals.  They respond to her positive approach quickly. She will also teach you what you need to know to do the same for your dog. She will make sure you have a chance to apply what you are learning throughout the process.

Who is Marley?

My inspiration for creating my business name as Marley's Day Out came into my life at 8 months old with NO training, NO socialization and a TON of energy. The boxer girl pictured below is now 12 years old. She is a much better dog when she has had her "day out" which consists of at least a 45 minute run/walk and a trip to her favorite park or doggy store. I didn't know if I was going to keep her or foster/train her and then find her a suitable home. Well, not only is she a special case (and stole my heart) she hasn't gone anywhere. I want people to see that with training, patience and love there is always hope for your dog with Marley's Day Out. Don't get rid of the dog, let me help you.  I can help you create productive time and keep your dog and your family happy.
